The Soil Service App is a platform that supports soil-probe devices in voicing and showcasing its data in an accessible manner. The main aim of the app is to further motivate, primarily, farmers towards sustainable yield futures. It’s service and participatory design approach to the project allowed a deep dive in both: the new technology and innovation of DigitSoil’s enzymic activity probe; as well as the user-centric perspective through iterative usability testing and conversations with field experts. The final services and platform curated in this project essentially differentiates the existing market from its consideration of synchronisation of enzymic activity and the nutrient absorption level of the soil. Paired with our understanding of time-constraint schedules of Swiss farmers, our features complements the gap in demand of high yielding farming plans, with sustainable thinking and alternative methodologies. By calculating prime conditions that can achieve optimal synchronisation levels, it encourages proper application of inputs and practices long-term, sustainable, thinking that outcomes in organic thriving yield.
