How can surface sensitivity as a manifold experience of in- formation design become tangible on a subjective and emo- tional level?
Visual and auditory stimuli play a vast part within the eld of communication. Subconscious factors such as tactile or haptic sensations are hardly taken into account. In order to heighten the awareness of these sensory perceptions, my thesis addresses possible applications of surface sensitivity within the context of design. A sculptural information gra- phic concerning the obstacles a group of Syrian refugees had to overcome on their journey to Europe will let the ob- server turn into an actor. The interaction with the installa- tion shall enable the user to experience the possibilities of tactility and haptic on a subjective and emotional level.
