IAD at DIS26 Singapore

IAD lecturer Luke Franzke and MA Interaction Design student Lin Hsin-Yi presented their research at the ACM Designing Interactive Systems (DIS) 2026 Conference in Singapore this June. Their paper, Electro-Guo: Edible Electrotactile Displays for Programmable Gastronomy, was accepted for the DIS 2026 Companion Proceedings and showcased to an international audience of researchers and designers working in human-computer interaction and interaction design.

The project explores how electrotactile technology can be integrated into edible interfaces, opening up new possibilities for programmable gastronomic experiences. By combining food, sensory design, and emerging technologies, the research investigates novel ways to augment taste experiences and expand the boundaries of human-computer interaction.

ACM DIS is one of the leading international conferences in interaction design, bringing together researchers, practitioners, and educators from around the world. Participation in the conference provided an opportunity to share IAD research with the global design community and engage in discussions about the future of interactive systems.
