you+care Research Project
New Research Project at IAD
The you+care research project investigates how people who care for relatives can be supported. Caring often takes place in addition to work and/or school. Relatives are thus very much involved and often suffer from high stress
Prof. Jürgen Späth (Head of BA Interaction Design) and Nadine Cocina (Research Associate) are working together with Samuel Wehrli and Barbara Baumeister (ZHAW, Department of Social Work). With the partners We+Tech and Pro Aidants they develop an app for caregiving relatives. The preliminary research project is being carried out with Alzheimer Zurich. An overview study of existing digital applications regarding stress and mental health in other contexts is being conducted by Verena Klamroth-Marganska (ZHAW, Department of Health).
The digital application you+care introduces a stress management system, helps with targeted interventions and establishes a network with professionals. Through this support, the caregiving relationship can be extended and health care costs can be reduced.
