More Moor by Riva Pinto Wins Punch Prize and Is Exhibited at NY Climate Week
Riva Pinto, winner of the Punch Prize and graduate of the Master Major Interaction Design programme, is exhibiting her work ‘More Moor’ at NY Climate Week.
The Punch Prize is awarded to outstanding diploma theses from the Department of Design that innovatively address issues of environmental sustainability, the climate crisis and the complex relationships between humans, nature and more-than-human. Three diploma projects from the Department of Design will be exhibited in New York City from 25 to 27 September 2024 as part of the Swissnex initiative ‘Climate Ring’ during Climate Week.
The ‘Climate Ring’ is a three-day pop-up boxing ring that showcases Swiss creativity and innovation in relation to climate change and social justice. The ‘Climate Ring’ takes on the greatest challenge of our time: creating a more sustainable and resilient future for all!
‘More Moor’ explores how interactive experiences can contribute to emotional learning about moor ecosystems and foster engagement for moor protection. To this end, relevant theories and practices from interaction design, psychology and pedagogy are linked to illuminate how multisensory experiences in an interactive learning environment can strengthen educational strategies for environmental protection.
