The phenomena of oil spills are environmental spectacles that disorient the human sense of the «present.» Petro Spectacles is a speculative thesis composed of global patterns in oil spills, fluid interfaces, and the bioacoustics of the petroleum exploration industry. The design artefacts produced from this research aim to connect interests in new materialism within interaction design and new media arts. The ideal user experience reflects on various facets of spatial-temporal analysis in regards to natural resources.
