IAD at Polit-Forum Bern Exhibition, 15. May 2025 – 13. December 2025

Exhibition with IAD student works at Polit-Forum Bern. 15. May 2025 – 13. December 2025

Artificial intelligence (AI) has changed the way we work, communicate, and live. Rapid technological advancements suggest even further and more dramatic disruptions to our daily lives. However, it is often unclear how AI works, who stands to profit from it and what consequences it will have for our democracies.

What role do we give to artificial intelligence in democracy? Who makes the decisions? How can we mitigate negative outcomes and use AI to strengthen our democracies? These questions and more are explored in the exhibition "KI und Demokratie: welche Zukunft wollen wir?", with design work that both critically addresses AI and speculates on how we can safely coexist and prosper in the future. The works shown are from design students at HEAD (Geneva), SSSAA (Lugano) and from Interaction Design at the ZHdK. The exhibition is the result of a series of collaborations with the SNF project "Stories of the Future".

In May, the exhibition was kicked off with a panel discussion with IAD lecturer Luke Franzke, Vytautas Jankauskas (HEAD), Jerome Duberry (IHEID), Manuel Hubacher (Centre for Democracy Studies Aarau), together with the students and moderator Stefanie Schuepbach (Polit-Forum).
