The Physical Computing Lab is the research laboratory of Interaction Design at ZHdK. It was founded in 2004 to establish a place for connecting research, teaching, technology and knowledge transfer. The Lab provides a platform for prototypical, experimental and interdisciplinary design using physical computing, tangible interfaces, gestural Interactions, sensor technology, robotics and much more.
The use of the laboratory is available to students and researchers at the Department of Design upon prior notification. Anyone wishing to work in the laboratory must be instructed in the handling of equipment and materials. Individual mentoring can be requested with the lab supervisor. In addition to working in the laboratory, we also lend out tools and some basic materials.
