Junior Design Research Conference
The Junior Design Research Conference (JRC) is an annual gathering that brings together MA students enrolled in Master of Arts in Design programs at Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences. This event offers valuable insights into contemporary research themes and methodologies at the master’s level. Additionally, it provides a unique platform for students to connect and share their interests and practices through informal networking.
The conference's primary goal is to foster awareness of the diverse design disciplines, topics, and research methods at various stages of a master’s thesis. The morning session is dedicated to brief student presentations, which highlight the knowledge gaps their projects address, their research methodologies, and the interplay between theory and practice. In the afternoon, students lead workshops for their peers, allowing for a deeper exploration of these subjects. The day concludes with a social gathering, providing a relaxed environment to wrap up the event.
