07 – 12 September 2021, Ars Electronica, Linz, Austria
In 2021, the Interaction Design department (IAD) at the Zurich University of the Arts celebrated its 20th anniversary with an exhibition and symposium at Ars Electronica, alongside conversations with key figures in the field. The "Infinite Nows" exhibition showcased student works that explore alternative presents through speculative and experimental practices, addressing topics such as cross-species interaction, deepfakes, inclusive voting, and interactive technologies fostering presence and care.
The "On Interaction" symposium reflected on the role of Interaction Design in navigating the relationality between human and non-human actions. IAD team members, graduates, and PhD students presented their work, addressing pressing social, political, and ecological challenges while exploring fresh approaches to interaction design practice, research, and education.
